Job summary

Zachry Nuclear Engineering is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer IV to join our team across Stonington, CT, Perry, OH, or Charlotte, NC. You will lead advanced engineering for nuclear plant systems, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver reliable, safe solutions.

You will develop engineering designs, perform calculations, and review technical reports while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering.
PE license with 7+ years of experience or 10+ years without PE.
Experience in design, analysis, plant modifications, or capital projects in industrial/nuclear environments.
Ability to lead assignments and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to obtain unescorted access to nuclear facilities.

Responsibilities

Independently perform engineering calculations and design activities for nuclear plant mechanical systems.
Develop solutions supporting plant modifications, upgrades, and modernization projects.
Lead engineering assignments and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
Support design reviews, client interactions, and engineering estimates as required.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
