Job summary

Zachry Nuclear Engineering seeks a Mechanical Engineer III to join its team in Stonington, CT, Perry, OH, or Charlotte, NC. You will independently perform engineering and design activities supporting nuclear plants, applying engineering principles to improve safety, reliability, operability, and performance.

The role offers increasing responsibility, ownership of projects, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and utility clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum four (4) years of relevant engineering experience with PE license; or minimum six (6) years without PE license.
• Experience supporting engineering design, analysis, modifications, or evaluations in industrial, energy, or nuclear environments.
• Demonstrated ability to perform engineering work with increasing levels of independence and responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and evaluations related to nuclear plant mechanical systems and equipment.
• Develop engineering solutions supporting plant modifications, upgrades, and improvement projects.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, design documents, specifications, reports, and technical evaluations.
• Apply engineering principles, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements in the development of engineering products.
• Support feasibility studies and engineering assessments related to plant systems and equipment.
