Job summary

Aalo Atomics is seeking a Licensing Engineer to lead licensing basis development, regulatory strategy, and safety-basis work for advanced nuclear projects in Austin, TX. You will apply RIPB methods, integrate PRA insights, and ensure DOE/NRC compliance throughout design, construction, and operation.

Responsibilities include creating licensing basis documents, performing safety analyses, classifying SSCs, and coordinating with regulators and design teams to meet milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Fire Protection, or closely related field.
• 2+ years in nuclear licensing/operations/design for Licensing Engineer; 5+ years for Senior Licensing Engineer.
• Strong understanding of reactor fundamentals and PRA methods.
• Familiarity with DOE and NRC regulations and licensing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to licensing basis development using RIPB and LMP methodologies.
• Perform deterministic safety analyses and document results for regulatory submittals.
• Classify SSCs and define design interfaces and codes.
• Engage with NRC/DOE regulators and stakeholders; prepare submittals and reports.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate multidisciplinary licensing teams.
