Job summary

Aalo Atomics, based in Austin, TX, seeks an Integration Engineer to own plant-level interfaces and translate top-level requirements into system-level designs for licensable reactors.

You will chair cross-disciplinary reviews, manage the 3D model, and defend design decisions before licensing authorities and review boards. This role requires deep regulatory fluency and hands-on CAD/PLM experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical, Nuclear, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering; MS preferred.
• 8+ years in engineering, with 4+ years in regulated, high-stakes environments.
• Experience decomposing top-level requirements into system-level specifications.
• Working fluency with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code and related standards.
• Familiarity with 10 CFR 50/52/21; Part 53; ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288.

Responsibilities

• Own the plant-level interface control system and ICDs; drive closure of items with quantified criteria.
• Translate requirements into system-level performance specs and maintain traceability to licensing bases.
• Lead cross-discipline design reviews resolving conflicts between piping, structure, electrical, HVAC, and I&C.
• Manage the digital plant model (NX/Creo/SolidWorks) and PLM tools; enforce model maturity gates.
• Support licensing by preparing integration sections of SAR and responding to RAIs.
• Drive constructability and operability with modular fabrication and ALARA principles.
• Defend margin allocations and ensure loads remain consistent with energy balance.
