Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer for a full-time, on-site role at the TRISO-X Fuel Fabrication Facility in Oak Ridge, TN. The engineer will participate in design, modification, and analysis of plant electrical systems for existing nuclear power plants, collaborating in a project team environment and interfacing with clients and vendors.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, 5+ years of experience in electrical design for

Qualifications

• Five or more years’ experience in electrical engineering design for industrial applications, with nuclear plant focus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information to project teams and clients.
• Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering design change packages to install, replace or upgrade equipment for reliability.
• Develop and review detailed electrical calculations (short circuit, voltage drop, breaker coordination).
• Prepare equipment specifications and support vendor bid reviews.
• Draft scoping and constructability reviews for conceptual designs.
• Interface with project team members and clients; travel to sites for design reviews and field verifications.
• Support site installation activities and assist project manager to deliver on time and within budget.
