Job summary

Spencer Ogden is seeking experienced Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineers to support nuclear power generation projects in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on risk-informed evaluations, nuclear safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance within a utility environment.

You will develop analyses, resolve complex engineering issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives, reports, and documentation, while managing workstreams with planning and progress tracking.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering within a power plant or nuclear generation environment.
• Experience in the utility industry, preferably in plant or station Engineering or Operations.
• Familiarity with Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) or Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) plant systems.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate alternatives and present technical recommendations.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical documentation and engineering analyses to support risk-informed evaluations, nuclear safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
• Research and resolve complex engineering, system design, and operational issues.
• Evaluate engineering alternatives, assess potential impacts, and provide sound technical recommendations to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and licensing, to support project objectives.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports, calculations, analyses, and supporting documentation.
• Manage assigned workstreams, including planning, scheduling, estimating, and status reporting.
