Job summary

Entergy is seeking a Nuclear Design Engineer I-Sr to support our nuclear fleet with core design, reactivity management, and analytical rigor. You will help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the fleet, maintaining core models and evaluating fuel designs and vendor changes.

Responsibilities include collaboration on advanced fuel technologies, startup support, and ensuring compliance with design standards. Onsite role in Mississippi with up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

• BS in Nuclear Engineering or closely related field with equivalent experience.
• MS degree desired to count as experience per policy.
• Experience in reactor design, fuel management, or related nuclear disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to core reload projects including design and licensing activities.
• Collaborate on fuel and core designs to advance fuel performance and reliability.
• Support reload/startup activities with quality and predictability; capture lessons learned.
• Maintain detailed core models for reactor engineering and plant functions.
• Provide reactor physics and fuel criticality expertise for licensed bases.
• Review fuel vendor deviations and fabrication changes affecting design fit/function.
• Provide technical oversight of contracted analyses.
• Ensure programs like Special Nuclear Material and Fuel Reliability are implemented.
• Support Reactor Engineering as SME for fuel reliability, reactivity management, and more.
