Job summary

Aecon U.S. is seeking a Senior Nuclear Estimator to lead cost estimates and execution plans for nuclear construction projects in the United States.

You will analyze drawings and documents, perform value engineering, and coordinate with MEP, Civil, and Architectural teams to ensure accurate bids and successful project execution. The role requires 5–10 years of estimating experience in nuclear construction, strong collaboration, and proficiency with industry tools such as MS Excel, Primavera P6,

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher in Engineering, Project Management or equivalent experience.
• 5–10 years of estimating experience, including nuclear construction projects of moderate to high complexity.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Knowledge of nuclear construction practices, procurement methods, project controls and scheduling.
• Experience with MS Excel, Word, Project; AutoCAD and Bluebeam; Primavera P6; InEight (Hard Dollar) or similar estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates and budgets for bids and awarded projects.
• Maintain and utilize a historical cost database.
• Participate in design reviews for MEP, Civil and Architectural Subcontract packages with client stakeholders.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Perform value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Oversee projects to learn actual field costs and methods.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and unit pricing using estimating software.
• Solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Maintain current material pricing within estimating systems.
• Support project turnover to Project Management teams.
