Job summary

Nidec Corporation in the United States seeks a Project Manager II for New Product Development to lead cross-functional teams from concept through launch of motor driver projects.

You will drive governance, plan and control scope, schedule, budget, and risk, coordinating hardware, software, validation, and suppliers to meet quality, cost, and performance targets. You will mentor junior PMs and ensure documentation and artifact archiving for stage-gate, agile, and hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related technical discipline.
• Advanced Project Management knowledge (PMBOK, Waterfall) including scheduling, planning, risk mitigation, and financial analysis.
• PMP Certification is preferable.
• 5+ years of demonstrable Project Management experience.
• Experience handling large New Product Development projects with internal and external teams.
• Agile/Scrum methodology is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with executive level teams.
• Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma, Black Belt certification is preferable.
• Strong English-speaking is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate cross-functional project meetings to drive actions and decisions.
• Own end-to-end project planning and control (scope, schedule, budget) with integrated plans.
• Prepare governance decision packages and monitor scope, schedule, risks, and deliverables.
• Influence across diverse global teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Co-facilitate workshops to improve execution, quality, and team effectiveness.
• Identify and engage key stakeholders to build project teams across functions.
• Identify and manage project risks, conflicts, and mitigation strategies.
• Utilize PM tools to track progress, dependencies, and critical path.
• Escalate when needed and ensure artifacts are documented and archived.
• Support financial planning and resource allocation within project plans.
