Job summary

Galvanize Therapeutics is seeking an experienced New Product Development Engineering Manager to lead engineering execution and technical strategy for medical device product lines from concept through commercialization.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on product development expertise with leadership of multidisciplinary teams, strong Design Controls experience, and a track record of delivering regulated medical devices on time and within quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering with medical device experience.
• 10+ years in medical device product development with hands-on design and commercialization experience.
• Strong knowledge of Design Controls and regulated engineering documentation.
• Experience leading diverse teams through concept to commercialization.
• Proven ability to translate requirements into engineering inputs and specifications.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; capable of influencing decisions.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (<20%).

Responsibilities

• Own technical execution for assigned product lines across multiple NPD programs.
• Define product/technical strategy, including system architecture and development plans.
• Lead cross-functional development translating needs into requirements and specifications.
• Provide leadership for Design Controls, verification, and documentation.
• Drive risk management and technical decision-making with Design Assurance.
• Ensure manufacturability and successful Design Transfer with Process Development.
• Develop engineering talent through mentorship, performance management, and recruitment.
• Maintain hands-on technical leadership in CAD, prototyping, testing, and trade-off assessments.
• Partner with Clinical Affairs, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, and Program Management.
• Support regulatory submissions and sustaining engineering activities.
• Champion continuous improvement and robust design practices.
