Gateway Recruiting is seeking a Senior Manager of R&D to lead engineering teams, develop long-term strategies, and drive product innovations in medical devices. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with executives, physicians, suppliers, and OEM partners to ensure quality, safety, and market readiness.

The incumbent will attract and develop top technical talent, implement robust processes, and deliver fully developed medical products to market while managing budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Masters in technical or business field preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of supervisory/managerial experience.
• 10 years in high technology environment.
• Experience with medical device design and product lifecycle management across multiple releases.
• Experience with catheters (balloon catheters) and electro-mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of global regulatory requirements for medical devices and risk management.

Responsabilités

• Hire and retain diverse staff; provide coaching and development.
• Staff development: critiquing, instructing, mentoring, coaching, evaluation; performance of subordinates and subcontractors.
• Foster an innovative culture in R&D aligned with company values.
• Translate mission into actionable, quantitative plans; set objectives for reports.
• Collaborate with marketing, regulatory, clinical affairs, quality, and operations.
• Support lifecycle management from ideation to sustaining products.
• Drive innovation in all aspects of product development.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management.
• Comply with FDA regulations and company policies; ensure proper documentation.
