Job summary

Huxley in Texas is seeking a hands-on Database Engineer III to design, build, and support enterprise-grade NoSQL database platforms. The ideal candidate will manage production environments, collaborate with infrastructure, development, security, and compliance teams, and help drive modern NoSQL adoption.

You will design, deploy, and support self-managed on-premises databases, mentor junior DBAs, implement automation with Ansible, Terraform, Python, and IaC, and ensure high availability, disaster

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting and engineering enterprise database platforms.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB, Cassandra and Redis.
• Experience designing, deploying and supporting self-managed or on‑premises database infrastructure.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Automation and scripting using Ansible, Terraform, Python and Shell.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and support self-managed NoSQL database platforms.
• Build highly available, scalable and resilient database environments.
• Administer MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis in production.
• Perform backup/recovery, DR planning, replication, capacity planning and monitoring.
• Support upgrades, patching, storage expansion and incident resolution.
• Develop automation solutions using Ansible, Terraform, Python, Shell, and IaC practices.
• Create and maintain documentation, diagrams and procedures.
• Collaborate with developers, security and operations teams to meet requirements.
• Mentor junior DBAs and contribute to NoSQL strategy.
