Job summary

Virtusa in Phoenix, AZ seeks a seasoned Cassandra DBA to design, optimize, and scale distributed NoSQL clusters. You will handle cluster expansion, capacity planning, and performance tuning across multi-tenant environments.

Deep knowledge of Cassandra internals (Gossip, replication, compaction) and incremental repairs, plus backup/recovery strategies, is essential. Hands-on with nodetool, dsetool, OpsCenter, Prometheus, and Grafana; AWS/GCP experience highly valued.

Qualifications

Extensive experience managing distributed NoSQL databases (Cassandra, Couchbase) and cluster expansion.
Proven skills in backup/recovery, SSTable migration, and multi-tenant environments.
Strong understanding of Cassandra internals and repair strategies.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and monitoring tools.
Familiarity with tooling: nodetool, dsetool, OpsCenter, Prometheus, Grafana.
Ability to explain database concepts to stakeholders.
