Jewish Family Services of Greater Hartford in West Hartford, CT is seeking a Senior Accountant to ensure daily financial integrity, payroll processing, and full-cycle accounting for the agency and its Care at Home program. Reporting to the Controller, the role covers bank reconciliations, A/P, A/R, and monthly closings with substantial internal controls.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in nonprofit bookkeeping, GAAP for nonprofits, and strong Excel/QuickBooks/ADP experience.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in bookkeeping, non-profit accounting, billing, and compliance
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field
• GAAP knowledge in nonprofit environments
• Proficiency in Excel and the full Office suite
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, ADP, Bill.com

Aufgaben

• Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations for all agency funds and programs.
• Manage full-cycle A/P processes for both JFS and CAH.
• Support restricted grant tracking, annual audit schedules, and state/federal filings; enforce internal controls.
• Assist with annual tax processing and distribution of W-2s/1099s; assist with insurance renewals/regulatory compliance.
• Process bi-weekly staff payroll through ADP (JFS) and weekly payroll for CAH.
• Perform additional duties as needed by management.
