Job summary

Ohel Children's Home and Family Services seeks a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support strategic decision making and ensure compliance with nonprofit financial requirements. This role blends deep technical accounting with mission-driven oversight to maintain fiscal integrity and support Ohel’s programs.

Responsibilities include tracking grant expenditures, preparing reports, closing monthly and yearly books, and delivering financial analyses to program leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• 2+ years working experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit setting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks or ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit tax rules and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Track and report on grant and contract expenditures, ensuring adherence to funder requirements.
• Prepare expenditure reports and monitor grant reporting deadlines.
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to program leadership.
