Job summary

San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living seeks a Senior Accountant to manage general ledger, fund accounting, fixed assets, and financial reporting. You will ensure accurate month-end close, internal controls, and cross‑functional collaboration with departments across the campus.

The role emphasizes nonprofit accounting, grants, and donor-restricted funds, with responsibility for depreciation, project capitalization, and audit support. A strong GAAP background is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Experience with nonprofit and/or fund accounting.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliation to the general ledger.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Maintain fixed asset subledger, depreciation, and capital project accounting; coordinate inventories and asset transfers.
• Perform foundation and fund accounting, allocate investment income, and ensure proper donor/grant reporting.
• Support annual financial statement audits, regulatory reporting, and IRS Form 990 schedules; strengthen internal controls.
