Job summary

Cognizant seeks a Senior Node.js / TypeScript Engineer to design and deliver scalable, API-driven healthcare payer solutions supporting claims processing and interoperability. You will collaborate with product owners, architects, and operations teams to build secure, resilient applications.

The role is remote for qualified US applicants, with a focus on modern AWS cloud environments, CI/CD, and automated testing to ensure quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building REST API-driven apps with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with AWS.
• Strong healthcare payer domain knowledge (claims processing, coding, data integrity).
• Experience designing scalable data models, API contracts, and integration frameworks.
• Knowledge of SDLC, version control, and collaborative engineering methodologies.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, cloud environments, and container deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance enterprise-grade REST API services using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Translate payer business requirements into scalable technical solutions and service-oriented architectures.
• Build structured data models and API contracts that enable interoperability across healthcare systems.
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD practices, and quality engineering standards for stability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize service performance, and improve platform resilience.
