Job summary

Intel seeks a senior physical design engineer to drive innovation at the intersection of advanced semiconductor tech and neural-inspired computing. You will guide chiplet integration, physical packaging, and block- and chip-level closure while collaborating with RTL designers to meet timing and power targets.

The role requires multi‑year tape‑outs experience, scripting in Perl/TCL/Python, and familiarity with Cadence/Synopsys tools. A hybrid work model is offered within the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 6+ years of hands-on physical design experience.
• Master's degree with 4+ years of hands-on physical design experience is acceptable.
• 6+ years of experience in floorplanning, timing and power constraints, and place-and-route iterations.

Responsibilities

• Architect full‑chip floorplans and partition-level floorplans with macro/pin placements.
• Define timing constraints with RTL designers; run synthesis and PnR; fix violations.
• Run back-annotated simulations and iterate to meet power/performance targets.
• Write scripts and tool flows for low power/high performance custom designs.
