Job summary

Intel is seeking a seasoned engineer to lead the development of the neuromorphic driver and firmware stack for edge and robotic systems. You will own the layer from pre‑silicon modeling through production release, working with hardware, runtime, and validation teams.

The role requires 5+ years shipping low‑level software for accelerators, deep expertise in C/C++, and extensive Python tooling along with a track record of mentoring engineers and delivering production‑grade systems.

Qualifications

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and shipping production device drivers and device firmware, or comparable low‑level systems software, for accelerators, GPUs, or other complex hardware devices.
  • 5+ years of experience leading the architecture and design of driver or firmware subsystems for complex hardware platforms, including defining technical direction and guiding implementation.
  • 5+ years of experience defining hardware/software interfaces with hardware architects, bringing up software from pre‑silicon through post‑silicon tuning.
  • 5+ years of experience designing driver or firmware subsystems for production readiness, including security, reliability, telemetry, and diagnostics.
  • 5+ years of mentoring engineers and leading cross‑functional delivery.
  • 10+ years of hands‑on experience in C/C++, with Python tooling and CI/CD practices.
  • 1+ years of agentic software engineering using AI agents to design and review production code.

Responsibilities

  • Define the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for Intel's neuromorphic driver and firmware stack, with hands‑on contribution.
  • Architect, develop, and optimize the driver and firmware components for device operation, memory mapping, interrupts, and power management.
  • Collaborate with hardware architects to define interfaces for future silicon and drive software bring‑up from pre‑silicon to post‑silicon tuning.
  • Own production readiness including security, reliability, diagnosability, and serviceability with field support.
  • Collaborate with runtime, compiler, application, and validation teams to translate platform requirements into robust software capabilities.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring across the driver and firmware domain.
