Job summary

Intel's Neuromorphic Computing Lab seeks a Neuromorphic AI Research Scientist to advance brain-inspired processor tech toward commercial adoption. You will design algorithms, prototype software, and collaborate across hardware and software teams to enable edge AI solutions.

Minimum qualifications include a PhD or equivalent and multiple publications, with hands-on experience in Python/C++. The role offers a hybrid work model across US locations including Santa Clara and Phoenix.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in Computational Neuroscience, CS, EE, applied math, robotics, or related field.
• 1+ projects turning research ideas into working prototypes with rigorous evaluation.
• 3+ publications in AI/ML, edge computing, robotics, or control.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze neuromorphic AI algorithms for robotics, signal processing, control, and learning on edge platforms.
• Develop research-quality software artifacts including APIs, kernels, and benchmarking tools.
• Prototype and evaluate approaches under quantization, sparsity, memory, latency, and energy constraints.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to translate algorithmic needs into hardware specs.
• Build experimental pipelines and benchmarks with comprehensive baselines and ablations.
• Communicate results through technical docs, customer prototypes, and publications.
• Contribute to technical thought leadership and present findings to stakeholders.
