Job summary

UVA Health in Charlottesville seeks an experienced Neurodiagnostic Technologist 2 to perform routine and advanced EEG studies for diverse neurological conditions. You will work independently within a collaborative EEG and Epilepsy team, contributing to high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting.

You will review histories, tailor patient-centered approaches, and ensure accurate recordings while mentoring newer technologists and maintaining lab standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal medical education program as listed (CVT/EMT/Paramedic or equivalent).
• Clinical patient care experience, 2+ years preferred.
• ACLS certification in good standing; PALS prep encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced EEG studies per protocols and quality standards.
• Review patient history to tailor a patient-centered approach.
• Explain procedures clearly and adjust communication to patient needs.
• Obtain technically accurate recordings across diverse populations.
• Identify artifacts and troubleshoot equipment while protecting study integrity.
• Document accurately and share relevant information with physicians.
• Manage daily workload independently and prioritize lab needs.
• Mentor newer technologists and share best practices.
