Job summary

The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans seeks a Networks Maintenance Technician II to support water distribution and wastewater systems. Responsibilities include preventive and reactive maintenance, locating buried meters, and assisting with minor repairs under supervision.

Candidates should have 18 months of maintenance/construction experience or a HS diploma/GED plus equivalent experience, and complete designated Civil Service training courses.

Qualifications

• 18 months of maintenance and/or construction experience.
• High School Diploma or GED OR 18 months of additional full-time maintenance/construction experience.
• Permanent status with Sewerage & Water Board and one year of experience as a Networks Maintenance Technician I.
• Successful completion of the listed Civil Service training courses.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on water distribution and wastewater systems.
• Assist with locating buried or covered meters and minor repairs as required.
• Complete required training and certifications as part of overall maintenance duties.
• Support a team performing multi-skilled network maintenance activities.
