Job summary

Avride is seeking a Senior Systems & Networking Engineer to own and scale the internal fault‑tolerant vehicle network and the external connectivity. You’ll tackle multi‑gigabit Automotive Ethernet, TSN timing, PTP synchronization, and high‑throughput Go/Python daemons across x86_64 and ARM64.

Collaborating with platform and hardware teams in Austin, you’ll debug across the Linux stack, optimize NICs, and implement monitoring and failover so our fleet stays connected in the field.

Qualifications

• Systems Programming depth with Linux and networking fundamentals
• Advanced networking experience including IP routing, VLANs, and firewalling (nftables/iptables)
• Go and Python proficiency with some C/C++ for lower-level debugging
• Hardware-boundary debugging across user-space, kernel, drivers, and hardware interfaces
• Location: Austin, TX on-site/hybrid access to hardware lab

Responsibilities

• Architect and optimize the internal fault-tolerant network linking on-board compute nodes, controllers, and sensors
• Drive vehicle-wide time synchronization using PTP/IEEE 802.1AS for safety data paths
• Configure and troubleshoot automotive/industrial switches, VLANs, and Automotive Ethernet for deterministic traffic
• Design robust failover mechanisms and network bonding across multiple LTE/5G carriers
• Develop Go and Python system daemons and telemetry agents for x86_64 and ARM64
• Assist embedded Linux team with hardware bring-up and network integration
• Build end-to-end monitoring for networking stack and observability
