Ascension is seeking a senior WAN Architect to design, scale, and optimize our global SD-WAN, leveraging Cisco Catalyst (Viptela) and Meraki solutions. You’ll own high-availability traffic steering, multi-region edge performance, and end-to-end upgrade programs.

You will act as a top tier technical authority for complex WAN degradations, handling BGP/OSPF routing and policy control, while driving modernization and automation across production sites.

Qualifications

• Education required: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years experience or Associate/Bachelor with 1 year experience; 5 years related experience preferred.
• CCNP certification required; strong preference for CCNP SD-WAN Specialist or CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure.
• 8–10+ years of experience in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting large-scale Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN and related routing protocols.

Responsabilités

• Architect & Scale Enterprise SD-WAN across global Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN (Viptela) and Cisco Meraki WAN fabrics.
• Serve as tier-3/4 authority for critical enterprise WAN degradations; perform deep-packet analysis and root-cause resolution for BGP/OSPF/routing policies.
• Lead end-to-end WAN modernization, migrations, and policy tunings across transport options (MPLS, Internet, 5G) for edge resiliency.
• Establish continuous network health telemetry; refine QoS/SLA policies; develop automated incident response playbooks across distributed sites.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Architect & Scale Enterprise SD-WAN: Own, optimize, and maintain global Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN (Viptela) and Cisco Meraki WAN fabrics, engineering high-availability traffic steering and application path optimization across multi-region edge sites.
• Resolve Complex Multi-Site Escalations: Serve as the tier-3/4 technical authority for critical enterprise WAN degradations, performing deep-packet analysis and complex root-cause resolution for dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, and policy control).
• Execute WAN Modernization & Migrations: Lead end-to-end SD-WAN infrastructure upgrades, policy tunings, and seamless transport transitions (MPLS, Internet broadband, 5G LTE) to enhance edge resilience and dynamic failover performance.
• Standardize Operational & Transport Excellence: Establish continuous network health telemetry, refine QoS/SLA policies for real-time traffic, and develop automated incident response playbooks across geographically distributed production sites.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

Additional Preferences:

• Advanced Cisco Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) required, with strong preference for Cisco SD-WAN Specialist / Concentration credentials or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure).
• Enterprise WAN & Routing Expertise: 8â10+ years of mission-critical experience designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed networks running Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN (Viptela), Meraki SD-WAN, and complex routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, route policy control).
