Job summary

Flyover is seeking a System Administrator II - Network to own our network and connectivity across sites, from core routing to wireless and VPN. Based at Chicago, IL or Las Vegas, NV, you will work a hybrid schedule with on-site time as needed and lead network standardization and security improvements.

You will document the current network, close security gaps, and manage capacity planning while collaborating with IT leadership and site teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• 5+ years in network administration or engineering across multi-site environments.
• Experience with enterprise switching/routing, firewall and VPN configuration.
• Enterprise wireless design and administration; strong monitoring and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to handle occasional Level 1 tasks on site (up to ~4 hours per week).

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN, switching, and routing across sites.
• Administer firewalls, VPNs, and network security controls.
• Deploy and manage enterprise wireless—controllers, APs, SSIDs, coverage.
• Monitor network health, set up alerts, respond to incidents and outages.
• Maintain network documentation, IP management, and change records.
• Collaborate with vendors/ISPs on circuits and capacity planning.
• Define standards as network SME and share knowledge with IT team.
• Handle on-site Level 1 tasks as needed (hardware, printers, peripherals).
• Other duties as assigned.
