Responsibilities

Team Intro

You will be part of the Network Security Operations team responsible for Cyber Defense and Engineering. The team's primary focus is managing security platforms, technologies, tools, and services supporting security controls across TikTok's environments. As a Network Security Operations Specialist, you will support cross-functional teams including cyber, privacy, and data protection engineers, architects, and analysts to deploy, integrate, and manage technologies that support data security in compliance with relevant regulations, contractual commitments, and confidentiality requirements.

Our organization follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager. This model is regularly reviewed and may change.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical analysis of network security and business problems, threats, incidents, and investigations.
• Communicate effectively, coordinate response and defensive actions across security disciplines, and disseminate security information to support TikTok's operational needs.
• Design, implement, and maintain network systems, ensuring performance and security.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain security architectures including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
• Monitor network traffic and logs to identify and respond to threats in real-time.
• Investigate security breaches, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits.
• Develop and enforce security policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS.
• Maintain security patches and updates across network systems.
• Collaborate with IT teams, provide security training, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in network security, with proven design and implementation skills.
• Deep knowledge of network protocols, security technologies, and monitoring tools.
• Experience with penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and cloud security platforms.
• Strong risk mitigation, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CISSP, CEH, CCNP Security, CISM, CCSK certifications.
