Job summary

Relativity in Illinois is hiring a Senior Security Engineer - Network Security for a hybrid role. You will design, deploy, and optimize network security controls across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments, including firewalls, DNS security, VPNs, and SOAR workflows.

The role emphasizes threat hunting, automation, and cross-functional collaboration with Infrastructure, Cloud, and Engineering teams. Requires 4–8 years in enterprise security with a network focus.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise security engineering with a focus on network security.
• Demonstrated experience in threat hunting, digital forensics, and/or detection engineering.
• Experience writing automation scripts and rules for security enforcement and observability.
• Solid knowledge of benchmarks and frameworks (MITRE, NIST).
• Proficiency with automation/scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
• Experience owning and driving complex security initiatives end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and optimization of network security controls across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Engineer and maintain security capabilities including firewalls, network detection and response, and secure web gateways.
• Develop detections and investigations for command-and-control, lateral movement, and data exfiltration.
• Automate network security configuration, validation, and response using APIs and infrastructure as code.
