Job summary

GTN Technical Staffing seeks a Senior Network Security Engineer to lead design, implementation, and optimization of a hyperscale network security environment across on-prem and cloud. You will drive security architecture, incident response, and automation initiatives within a high-availability HPC infrastructure.

You will partner with network engineering, platform, and DevOps teams to embed security across the stack, mentor engineers, and manage security operations and risk programs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in network engineering and network security with architectural responsibilities.
• Experience designing secured trusted, untrusted, and DMZ environments.
• Expertise in TCP/IP, routing, switching, load balancing, and OSI model fundamentals.
• Hands-on with firewalls, VPNs, proxies, IPsec, MACsec, TLS/HTTPS, DNS, NTP, AAA.
• Experience with security vendors and cloud (AWS/Azure).
• Experience implementing Zero Trust and segmentation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable network security architectures across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Lead segmentation strategies, Zero Trust initiatives, and secure network design for HPC and distributed systems.
• Manage and optimize firewalls, proxies, VPNs, and advanced threat protection platforms.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex security incidents and network threats; mentor engineers.
• Develop and implement automation for security infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management; IaC with Python, Terraform, Ansible.
• Drive governance, risk management, and security policies across infrastructure and applications.
