Job summary

GDIT seeks a Senior Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise network security across CBP operations. You will lead engineering efforts for firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and NAC, while guiding junior engineers and ensuring compliance with federal frameworks.

The role emphasizes collaboration with IT, security operations, and infrastructure teams to safeguard critical systems and support secure mission execution.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of hands-on network or security engineering experience.
• Experience with enterprise-grade firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and NAC tools.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, architecture, and security best practices.
• Proven ability to analyze network security architectures and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Experience monitoring security events and incident response.
• Familiarity with NIST, CIS and regulatory frameworks.
• Preferred CISSP, CCSP, CCNP Security, CompTIA Security+, CCNA/CCNA Security certifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and manage enterprise network security infrastructure (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, NAC).
• Analyze network security architectures, identify vulnerabilities, and develop mitigations.
• Monitor security events, lead investigations, and direct response activities.
• Enhance security to reduce attack surface and modernize network security.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and standards for compliance.
