Job summary

Amazon is seeking a senior security engineer to join the Leo Infrastructure and IP Security team. You will own network security across Leo's heterogeneous environments — corporate IT, manufacturing OT/SCADA, lab, launch operations, and ground stations — defining the security bar for every deployment and driving detection coverage from concept to production.

Impactful work includes threat modeling, building a security assessment framework, and partnering with operations teams to harden networks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years scripting, programming, and security code review in a common programming language.
• 5+ years troubleshooting systems issues, logs, or automating tasks using command line tools.
• Knowledge of HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP.
• Bachelor's degree in STEM or IT Security.
• Knowledge of security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
• Experience with network security, including architecture review, segmentation, firewall/ACL management, detection or incident response.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and deploy detections to production networks, using automation to surface events.
• Conduct threat modeling for network deployments across environments including OT/ICS.
• Build and maintain a network security assessment framework for all deployment types.
• Translate risks into findings with severity and business impact; communicate to leadership.
• Develop and maintain security documentation: standards, runbooks, and detection maps.
• Partner with infrastructure and site operations to implement mitigations and hardening.
• Contribute to incident response when network threats are detected and drive improvements.
