Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids seeks a Network Security Architect to design and implement enterprise security for patient data and network infrastructure. You will translate business needs into secure architectures and lead major security initiatives across the organization.

The role requires deep expertise in firewalls, VPNs, IPS/IDS, DLP, 802.1X and cloud security, with a focus on HIPAA compliance and enterprise IT standards. On-site position with day/evening shifts and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a security architect or engineer or related IT leadership role.
• Experience with network infrastructure design and TCP/IP and OSI models.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (HIPAA, PCI, etc.) and security frameworks (NIST, ISO).

Responsibilities

• Designs, validates and communicates network security policy to engineering teams.
• Reviews and implements controls to mitigate risk.
• Oversees security infrastructure: firewalls, VPNs, IPS/IDS, SEIM and related systems.
• Collaborates with vendors and business units to ensure secure deployments.
