Job summary

The Iowa Clinic is seeking a Network Engineer III to serve as the senior technical lead for the organization’s network infrastructure, including routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, WAN, and cloud-connected environments. You will design, implement, and optimize network services to support clinical operations.

You will mentor the team, drive security and regulatory compliance, lead modernization initiatives, and produce executive reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• CCNP certification or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 5 years of network engineering experience, 3+ in senior/lead/architect role.
• Experience with healthcare or regulated environments and security architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and support of enterprise network infrastructure (routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, WAN, telephony, cloud).
• Escalation point for complex network issues; drive root-cause analysis and long-term fixes.
• Develop and maintain architecture standards, security controls, and roadmaps for growth and compliance.
• Manage Palo Alto firewalls, wireless, SD-WAN, and monitoring platforms for secure operations.
• Lead modernization initiatives, evaluations, and projects from planning through deployment.
• Mentor team members; contribute to training, knowledge sharing, and hiring activities.
