Job summary

Referment is seeking a Network Reliability Engineer to own and enhance a complex production network across Linux/Windows, high‑performance networks, and storage infrastructure. You will operate, troubleshoot, and automate changes, implementing zero‑trust access and strong observability with Splunk, SolarWinds, and Zabbix, while contributing to cloud‑native networking initiatives.

This hands‑on role requires five+ years of network experience, strong BGP/OSPF fundamentals, and firewall expertise

Qualifications

• Five+ years of hands-on experience operating and engineering production networks at scale.
• Strong fundamentals across UDP, TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF; knowledge of PIM/IGMP multicast.
• Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise firewall/security platforms: Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA.
• Proficiency in network automation and configuration management: Ansible.
• Experience writing/maintaining automation, ideally in Python.
• Hands-on with Zero Trust architectures and secure access solutions (Zscaler ZIA/ZPA, Cisco ISE, FortiNAC).
• Experience with observability/monitoring tools such as Splunk, SolarWinds, Zabbix.
• Technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Certifications like CCNP or PCNSE are desirable.
• Experience with cloud-native networking and hybrid connectivity (AWS VPC, Direct Connect, Azure Networking).

Responsibilities

• Operate and engineer production network infrastructure focusing on stability and safe change.
• Diagnose high-impact problems under pressure with attention to detail.
• Administer network, monitoring, and security platforms in a cross-platform environment.
• Develop automation to remove manual work and manage configuration as code.
• Implement and maintain Zero Trust access solutions (Zscaler ZIA/ZPA, Cisco ISE, FortiNAC).
• Make network health measurable with metrics and diagnostic tooling (Splunk, SolarWinds, Zabbix).
• Contribute to broader infrastructure projects, including cloud-native networking and hybrid connectivity.
