Job summary

TekWissen LLC is seeking a Network Planning Engineer III for a remote, 15-month assignment with a major American telecom client. The position focuses on developing detailed growth plans for the National Core Transport Network, including core backbones and metropolitan networks, guiding implementation by field teams.

The role requires 5+ years in transport planning, familiarity with SONET, WDM, and related telecom systems, and ability to manage budget approvals for project funding packages.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of network transport planning processes and associated data analysis principles including capacity management.
• A basic knowledge in one or more of the areas is needed as well as some practical technical experience working in the related function.
• A further responsibility of the position will be the judicious management and creation of all capital and expense budget approvals associated with the assigned project manifested through a monthly current estimate of expenditures on each funding package created.

Responsibilities

• The Sr. Transport Planning Engineer will support development of detailed network growth and evolution plans for the National Core Transport Network.
• Produce planning packages for field/design engineering teams to procure and install transport equipment.
• Mentor and train peers and junior staff in transport planning and engineering.
