Long-term contract with a Global Bank in NYC

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Operations Engineer to support a long-term network operations project at a global bank in NYC. This role requires expertise in Cisco ACI and legacy network environments, troubleshooting, and maintaining network stability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure network stability across Cisco ACI and legacy Cisco environments (IOS, CAT OS, Nexus)
• Handle sizing, availability, and high availability (HA) for Cisco ACI, routers, and switches
• Perform urgent troubleshooting and handle emergency requests, including after-hours or weekend support
• Oversee technology refresh for end-of-life (EOL) equipment
• Prepare detailed reports for management
• Implement necessary security updates and upgrades to mitigate vulnerabilities
• Support Network Security (NS), Threat and Vulnerability Management (TVM), and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) processes
• Assist in the development and maintenance of security procedures
• Track and remediate audit issues within required deadlines
• Lead network incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Ensure all documentation and network diagrams are current and accurate
• Support resiliency and disaster recovery (DR) efforts, including DR planning and drills
• Enforce Network Access Controls (NAC) and enhance network logging and monitoring through SIEM
• Work with network monitoring tools and cross-train with security tools

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

Experience: 6-8 years of hands-on network operations experience

Expertise in networking & protocols: BGP, OSPF, NAT, L2L VPN (IPSec), Remote Access (Global Protect)

Experience with tools: Cisco ASA Firewalls, Cisco ACS, Cisco ISE, Cisco ACI, Cisco Wireless, F5 Load Balancers

Preferred certifications: CCNA / CCNP (or equivalent experience)

Technical proficiency: Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, and other Office products

Strong communication skills: Ability to document, report, and articulate technical concepts clearly
