Job summary

Children's Aid Society is seeking a Network Administrator to maintain and secure the IT network across multiple sites in New York City. You will plan, implement, and optimize network infrastructure, ensure disaster recovery readiness, and support security standards for sensitive data.

You will collaborate with IT, program teams, and vendors to provide reliable services, document systems, and drive continuous improvement while supporting remote access and performance monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Cisco Network Administrator or similar role in a fast-paced team.
  • Extensive experience with TCP/IP design including LAN, VLAN, Wi‑Fi, DNS, DHCP, SSL, VPNs, and remote server monitoring.
  • Experience with Cisco Firewalls, Switches, Routers, IDS, and Network Access Control.
  • Experience configuring, managing, and maintaining storage arrays, clusters, and management controllers.
  • Experience supporting VoIP architecture.
  • CCNA certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate with individuals with varying levels of technical expertise and manage vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Administer network server infrastructure and related systems.
  • Install, configure, update, secure, and monitor network server software, hardware systems, and infrastructure.
  • Perform regular system health checks and vulnerability management, including patches and updates.
  • Plan, support, and maintain system/network infrastructure including Azure networking and disaster recovery.
  • Implement, maintain, and manage remote support processes and procedures.
  • Create and update network-related documentation.
  • Perform change control for network server changes and upgrades.
  • Follow standards for naming, documentation, and security of network server systems.
  • Recommend and implement new technology-based practices.
