Job summary

Panasonic Avionics Corporation seeks an experienced Infrastructure Architect to lead the lifecycle management of virtualized infrastructure, automation frameworks, and global shared services. You will define and own the on-prem to hybrid cloud integration, lead observability platform strategy, and drive cross-team automation initiatives.

The role requires 8+ years in infrastructure engineering or related fields, deep UNIX and virtualization expertise, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in infrastructure, software, or network engineering.
Advanced proficiency with UNIX (Red Hat Linux, Ubuntu, CentOS).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced proficiency with virtualization practices and fundamentals.
Advanced understanding of network and communications systems fundamentals.
Willingness to coach and train others as part of knowledge transfer.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Domestic travel <10% and international travel <5%.

Responsibilities

Lead lifecycle management of virtualized infrastructure, automation frameworks, and shared network services at scale.
Define VMware/hybrid-cloud strategy; manage on-prem and hybrid cloud integration (e.g., AWS).
Own global shared-services architecture (DNS, load balancing, PKI, NTP); approve architecture changes.
Lead observability platform strategy and tooling standards for the engineering org.
Set automation and Infrastructure-as-Code standards across teams; participate in architecture reviews.
Mentor engineers across levels and serve as senior escalation point.
Design data center layouts including power, cooling, racks, and cabling.
Design core networking (OSPF, BGP), HA, redundancy, and security segmentation.
Architect VMware/Hyper-V clusters with HA/DRS; plan capacity and lifecycle of hardware.
Design SAN, backup, and disaster recovery strategies; ensure RPO/RTO alignment.
Own resilience, continuity planning, and disaster recovery testing.
Oversee security posture: privileged access management, patching, and hardening.
Bridge on-prem systems with SaaS and hybrid cloud components.
