Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Network/Firewall Engineer to join our network security engineering team supporting an enterprise environment in Herndon, VA. You will install, configure, and support LAN/WAN and Internet segments, ensuring network availability and security across the perimeter.

You will design and manage firewall policies with Palo Alto, load balancing with F5, NAC and Wi-Fi solutions, and MDM/MAM via AirWatch/Intune. Strong SIEM knowledge and CDM program experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or 9+ years with a HS Diploma.
• Strong experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
• Experience with F5 load balancing and application delivery configuration.
• Experience designing, deploying, and administering NAC solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Wi‑Fi engineering and wireless standards.
• Experience with Cisco ISE for policy enforcement and device profiling.
• Experience with VMware AirWatch / Workspace ONE for MDM/ MAM.
• Experience administering Microsoft Intune (MDM/MAM).
• Experience using Splunk for log analysis and operational monitoring.
• Knowledge of SIEM tools and processes.
• Experience supporting CDM programs.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain required agency security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and support LAN, WAN, and Internet network segments to meet organizational needs.
• Monitor network performance and availability to ensure continuous uptime.
• Monitor and test website performance for availability and responsiveness.
• Design, deploy, and manage firewall policies using Palo Alto Networks platforms.
• Configure and maintain F5 load balancing and application delivery.
• Implement and manage NAC and Wi‑Fi to enforce endpoint compliance.
• Administer Cisco ISE for policy enforcement and guest access management.
• Manage MDM/MAM with VMware AirWatch and Microsoft Intune.
• Use Splunk for log aggregation, correlation, and analysis.
• Support SIEM operations, including alert triage and incident response coordination.
• Support CDM program requirements including asset visibility and vulnerability management.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and network diagrams.
