Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Network Equipment Engineer (IEN hubs) to design power, space and cooling, order equipment, track orders, and manage suppliers per design specs. You will create statements of work, bid projects, and follow purchasing guidelines.

The role supports regional hub engineering goals and meets financial targets while collaborating with multiple teams to implement new technologies. The position is hybrid, with a defined work location and some days in the office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
  • Knowledge of cell site and small cell design for wireless cellular systems.
  • Valid driver's license and willing to operate a company vehicle throughout the territories assigned

  • Aligning FUZE data fields to ensure departments are task ready in FUZE and ST.
  • Coordinating, supporting and assisting real estate and construction with power company engagement and requirements.

What you'll be doing...

As Network Equipment Engineer (IEN hubs), you will be responsible all power, space and cooling designs, and for ordering equipment per the design specifications, tracking the orders, and managing the suppliers. You will specify equipment to support all projects in the IEN hubs following all maintenance engineering standards. As equipment engineer you will be accountable for creating statements of work for specific engineering projects, bidding out projects and following all purchasing guidelines.

You will be responsible for meeting our regional hub engineering and the plan-of-record goals, financial targets and will be accountable for behaving professionally at all times. When a project needs to be completed, you will determine equipment needs and order and integrate a wide range of equipment power systems, alarming and fiber optic cable. You'll work closely with other Network teams such as Transport Engineering, RF Design, Operations, Real Estate, Construction, Facilities and System Performance to implement new technologies and services to meet our network improvement goals.

What we're looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelors degree or four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.

  • Valid driver's license and willing to operate a company vehicle throughout the territories assigned

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in designing and implementing wireless communications systems.
  • Experience in project management of large projects.
Where you'll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $87,000.00 - $142,000.00.
