Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Network Enterprise Design Engineer in Barstow, CA. The role focuses on implementing and monitoring security measures for communications systems and networks, and ensuring compliance with government security standards across diverse environments.

Responsibilities include developing procedures for monitoring, managing Confluent/Kafka data flows, and supporting disaster recovery planning while mentoring teammates and communicating complex issues to broader audiences.

Qualifications

• US citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance.
• High School Diploma or GED with 8+ years of related experience.
• IAT Level III certification.
• Software Defined Network experience.
• Knowledge of Kafka architecture and Kafka CLI tools.
• Experience with Confluent Schema Registry and Avro/JSON Schema.
• Proficiency in Linux, SQL, SSL/TLS; Java; Python; Go/Node.js.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review and maintain procedures for monitoring Hosts/Systems.
• Perform defensive cyber operations and ensure server compliance with Marine Corps IAVM and Tenable SecurityCenter.
• Configure and maintain Confluent/Kafka data ingest flows; support architecture.
• Develop and implement government-approved security policies and COOP/DR plans; perform IS and network certification.
• Conduct weekly vulnerability audits; prepare POA&Ms and assist with patching across DCO systems.
• Mentor and coach team members; communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
