Job summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a Senior Network Engineer with TS/SCI, FS to support a federal government client in the Washington, DC metro area. This on-site role requires extensive network engineering experience, Cisco hardware proficiency, and the ability to design and implement networks from OSI layer 1 through 3.

Applicants must have a TS/SCI with FS poly and demonstrate strong troubleshooting, network diagramming in MS Visio, and the ability to deliver technical briefings.

Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years of intelligence community experience as a network engineer or network administrator.
  • Six (6) years' experience with Cisco switches and network hardware
  • Willingness and ability to perform layer 1 tasks as needed (pulling cable, racking/stacking, etc…)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to use MS Visio to produce network diagrams
  • Ability to create and present presentations and other ad-hoc technical briefings as necessary
  • Familiarity with virtual appliances (switches, firewalls, etc…)
  • Must be able to survive and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Senior Network Engineer with TS/SCI, FS (Network Engineering, Associate) Position Location Washington, DC

Summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with TS/SCI, FS (Network Engineering, Associate) to support a federal government client in the Washington, DC metro area.

This position currently requires a full on-site schedule. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

This position is currently unfunded and is being posted in anticipation of a future contract award and funding approval. We are proactivelyidentifyingand engaging with qualified candidates. While candidates may be contacted for pre-screening, any hiring decisions will be contingent upon funding availability and final program requirements or client approval.

Responsibilities

The on-site Network Engineer shall perform the following minimum duties:

  • Assisting the System Administrators
  • Assisting the Lead Network Engineer in developing and implementing IT/network plans
  • Managing network operations using simple network management protocol (SNMP) network management tools

Required Qualifications

Desired Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of HANDS-ON network engineering experience in customer environment
  • Strong project management experience (i.e., ability to manage projects through their full lifecycle in order to meet deadlines)
  • Familiarity with Storage Area Networking (SAN) and Fibre Channel protocols and standards
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with SolarWinds network management/monitoring tool
  • Familiarity with JIRA
  • Experience working in a ‘mission-like’ environment
  • Cloud familiarity (AWS, Azure)
Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or four (4) years equivalent experience as network engineer or network technician.

Clearance

All applicants for this position must possess anactive Top Secret/SCI with FS Poly clearance; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.

For this position, the projected compensation range is $125,000 – $200,000 per year. This estimaterepresentsthe typical salary range and is just one part of MIL’s complete compensation package.
