Job summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a Journeyman Systems Security Engineer (Security Engineering, Analyst) to support a federal government client at NAS Patuxent River in Patuxent River, MD. This on-site role requires strong SSE expertise and DoD systems experience.

The position offers competitive compensation ($70,000 - $104,000 per year) and full benefits; Top-Secret/SCI eligibility is required, with a chance to contribute to weapon system protection and risk management within a collaborative federal

Qualifications

  • At least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience in systems engineering including Systems Security Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in identification of CPI and determination of consequence of compromise.
  • Conduct critical analysis and modeling on proposed architectures.
  • Develop and advocate contractual requirements for developmental programs.
  • Facilitate evaluation of weapon system architectures for protection standards.
  • Coordinate with DoD agencies to meet system protection requirements.
  • Assist V&V team with assessment of designs and solutions.
  • Support program risk management, mitigation and reporting.
  • Communicate across technical teams to share information and accelerate development.
  • Serve as a Technical Review Board member for SSE expertise.

Job description

The MIL Corporation seeks a Journeyman Systems Security Engineer (Security Engineering, Analyst) to support a federal government client at NAS Patuxent River in Patuxent River, MD.

This position currently requires an on-site schedule and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in identification of weapon system critical program information (CPI), and determination of consequence of compromise.
  • Conduct critical analysis and modeling on proposed architectures.
  • Develop and advocate contractual requirements in support of developmental programs.
  • Facilitate evaluation of weapons system architectures for compliance to protection standards.
  • Coordinate with program, service, Joint and Department of Defense agencies to ensure system horizontal protection requirements are met.
  • Assist the Navy Verification & Validation (V&V) team with assessment of system designs and solutions.
  • Support program risk management, mitigation and reporting.
  • Communicate across the technical teams to share information, address issues, and accelerate pace of new development.
  • Serve as a Technical Review Board (TRB) member for systems technical events providing SSE expertise.
Travel

10 - 15% to other sites, as needed

Required Qualifications
  • At least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience in systems engineering including Systems Security Engineering and associated role
  • Must have programmatic or technical knowledge identifying, formulating, designing and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems and as well as guiding the engineering development of modern complex systems
  • Required experience with application of systems engineering methods and tools in the development of weapon systems
  • Knowledge and direct experience in systems engineering, SSE and cyber security related to weapon systems and platforms
  • Knowledge and understanding of systems engineering processes and applications
  • Knowledge and experience in DoD systems acquisition life cycle
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of model-based systems engineering & digital engineering transformations
  • Recent and direct experience in AT systems engineering is highly desired
  • Recent and direct experience with DoD acquisitions is highly desired
  • Master’s degree in related scientific or technical discipline
Education

BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific or technical discipline.
