Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and manage complex enterprise networks from core to edge. You will collaborate with architects and engineers, oversee configurations, monitoring, and security of WAN, data center, and enterprise systems.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years of network engineering experience, deep knowledge of MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and SD-WAN, and the ability to work independently or lead a small team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or equivalent education and experience.
• 7+ years of network engineering experience supporting 100+ site WAN and LAN environment.
• Experience with core, distribution, and access switching and datacenter technologies (MPLS, vPC, EtherChannel, BGP, OSPF, policy based routing).
• Strong knowledge of networking technologies and WAN communications (TCP/IP, QoS, MPLS, IPSec).
• Experience implementing and supporting SD-WAN environments.
• Ability to work independently and may assume a team lead role.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architect, and manage network infrastructure to support business initiatives.
• Monitor network performance and recommend changes and upgrades based on utilization.
• Collaborate with Technical Architects in network and system design.
• Provide advanced network troubleshooting support to the Engineer team.
• Maintain knowledge of current and emerging networking technologies and trends.
