Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking an Network Engineer - Expert to design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructures for a government program. You will lead firewall deployments, network security, and cross-functional collaboration across cloud and on-prem environments.

Requires active TS/SCI with polygraph and 11+ years of related experience; Bachelor’s or Master’s preferred. Expect senior-level responsibilities, mentorship, and ongoing integration of modern network solutions.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with full scope polygraph
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred with 11+ years of relevant experience
• Deep knowledge of network architecture, design, and implementation
• Experience deploying CNGA internet network infrastructure
• Ability to translate customer requirements into enterprise network solutions
• Proven experience as a Network Engineer focusing on firewall tech and infra
• Cloud service providers and hybrid cloud experience
• Networking technologies including routing, switching, and SDN
• Ability to mentor junior engineers
• Must pass Cherokee Federal pre-employment qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions
• Analyze user requirements and develop network specifications
• Provide advanced troubleshooting of complex network problems
• Guide design and implementation planning with network teams
• Develop network architecture and design documentation
• Integrate new technologies into LAN/WAN environments
• Lead cross-functional collaboration for network security
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
• Coordinate with government contacts on engineering matters
• Ensure network security aligns with business objectives
