Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking an expert Network Engineer to design, implement, and secure firewall solutions across Cisco, Palo Alto, and Netscaler platforms for a government program.

The ideal candidate will bring 11+ years of experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency in firewall management software, with a TS/SCI clearance required. A hybrid cloud background is a plus and collaboration across teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 11 years of network engineering experience.
• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance is required.
• Proven experience with firewall technologies such as Cisco, Palo Alto, and Netscaler.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, and OSI model.
• Experience with cloud/hybrid networking (AWS/Azure/Oracle/Google).
• Industry certifications such as CCNA Security, CCNP Security, PCNSE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions across Cisco, Palo Alto, and Netscaler platforms.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewall policies and rules.
• Monitor network traffic for threats and proactively address vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network security with business goals.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in firewall technologies.
• Translate customer requirements into enterprise network solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
