Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to plan, design, implement, operate, and support secure, enterprise-scale networks. The role spans Cisco and Linux-based networking, requiring deep technical leadership in mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities include designing and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and security systems; integrating Cisco ACI concepts; and leading small teams. A Top Secret security clearance with polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
• Hands-on Cisco networking and security experience (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
• Practical experience with Linux networking and systems in production.
• Experience with KVM, Ansible, Bash, Python, VPN, and firewall configuration.
• Ability to design and document networked systems and architectures.
• Proven leadership and ability to work independently in small teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructures.
• Manage Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and security appliances.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network performance, connectivity, and security issues.
• Develop architecture diagrams, design documents, and implementation plans.
• Lead technical efforts and resolve complex issues; travel as needed.
