Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a mission-critical naval enterprise transport network, onsite in Suffolk, VA. You will serve as the Tier 3 escalation point, diagnose complex issues, guide Tier 2, and drive architectural direction across a globally distributed environment.

You will lead advanced troubleshooting, design Spine-Leaf, VPN, SD-WAN, and security‑oriented network solutions, ensuring continuous availability and scalability with 24x7 support requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years supporting large enterprise or service provider networks.
• Additional experience may substitute for degree.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Tier 3 escalation point for outages and root-cause investigations.
• Analyze network performance, routing behavior, and security events with packet tools.
• Lead cross-functional troubleshooting with network, systems, cybersecurity, and vendors.
• Design and enhance Spine-Leaf, VPN, SD-WAN architectures.
• Guide Tier 2 teams and improve SOPs and operations.
• Oversee upgrades, major configuration changes, and technology integration.
• Validate disaster recovery and lead failover testing.
• Develop enterprise configuration and security standards.
• Lab validation and simulation for deployments and changes.
• Support long-range capacity planning and modernization.
