Job summary

MITRE is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to support design, implementation, testing, validation, and modernization of secure and scalable Air Force network environments spanning WAN, CAN, and government cloud use cases.

The role requires strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills, with familiarity with Intelligence Communities architectures and Air Force acquisition processes. On-site work four days per week is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a Master’s; or PhD with 3 years’ experience.
• Active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government clearance required; U.S. citizen per clearance eligibility.
• On-site requirement: minimum 4 days a week on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, testing, validation, and modernization of high QoS, secure, resilient Air Force networks.
• Span WAN, CAN, and Government cloud use cases; explore cost savings and network optimization.
• Translate sponsor and mission needs into practical engineering solutions.
