Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Network Engineer 4 to join its Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit.

The role focuses on designing, engineering, integrating, operating, and maintaining electronic security services for federal, local, and commercial customers, including the U.S. Air Force Education and Training Center. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, CS or IT and at least seven years of progressive experience, with active SECRET clearance and strong

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with ACTIVE SECRET Clearance required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or related discipline with 7+ years of progressive experience.
• Understanding of ITIL concepts and security implications for network solutions.
• Knowledge of network concepts, technologies, tools, and ability to design network infrastructure.
• Familiarity with system development methodology, project management, and analytical/problem-solving.
• Strong oral, technical writing, and presentation skills.
• Ability to build productive relationships with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
• Balance high quality standards with schedule pressures; be resourceful and proactive.
• Preferred: readings of schematics, network system startup, testing, and use of tools like Wireshark, CLI.

Responsibilities

• Survey reports and measurements summarized for senior staff.
• Perform site surveys, inspections, and client visits as required.
• Install, configure, and maintain network services, equipment, and devices.
• Develop network designs for SLA classifications and produce design documents.
• Prepare specifications, QA/QC, and conduct design reviews.
• Author test plans, supervise testing, and prepare commissioning reports.
• Commission deployed systems and develop test fixtures.
• Troubleshoot complex network problems and implement improvements.
• Perform preventative maintenance and security updates.
• Support 24/7 on-call schedule.
• Document troubleshooting procedures and assist team in resolving issues.
