Position Summary

GEICO is seeking an experienced Engineer passionate about building high-performance, low-maintenance, zero-downtime platforms and applications. Position Description

The Senior Engineer is a key member of the engineering team responsible for innovating, building, and enhancing systems, as well as identifying new opportunities to apply technical expertise. You will lead the strategy and execution of a technical roadmap to increase product delivery velocity and unlock new capabilities. Deep technical expertise in network infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance is essential.

Position Responsibilities

1. Implement, support, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, VPN, and SD-WAN.
2. Implement network policies and security measures to safeguard against cyber threats and ensure compliance.
3. Design, deploy, and support SD-WAN solutions for optimal performance, security, and reliability.
4. Maintain wired and wireless security measures.
5. Configure and optimize wireless coverage, signal strength, and interference levels.
6. Manage SD-WAN edge devices, gateways, and controllers supporting dynamic traffic routing, QoS, and security policies.
7. Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to resolve complex problems.
8. Monitor network performance, proactively resolve issues, and ensure maximum uptime.
9. Share best practices and improve processes across teams.
10. Assess resource needs, evaluate processes, measure outcomes, and promote continuous learning.
11. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
12. Design, implement, and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and NTP in large enterprise environments.
13. Develop and improve processes, workflows, scripts, and automation to enhance quality and efficiency.
14. Develop and maintain strategic roadmaps for network platforms and services, adhering to standards and reference architectures.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting SD-WAN solutions.
• Strong understanding of WAN technologies including MPLS, VPN, and internet circuits.
• Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
• Experience with VPN technologies.
• Understanding of wireless protocols and standards.
• Expertise in routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
• Experience with core network components and vendors like Cisco, Aruba, Zscaler, Palo Alto.
• Hands-on experience managing DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and NTP using DDI platforms like Infoblox or BlueCat.
• Understanding of Cloud Service models: PaaS, IaaS, SaaS.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and in teams.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Active certifications such as Cisco CCNP or willingness to pursue within 12 months.
